The 6 ha vinyards of the Domaine de Souch are nested at the foot of the Pyrénées mountain range. It has been a long time since the domain's bioduynamic wines began to attract international attention, thanks to their quality and to the remarkable personality of the domain's owner, Yvonne Hégoburu.
In the South West of France, Réné Hégoburu, who died in 1985, remains an emblematic figure, a well respected journalist and a sportsman, adept of the local pelota. Yvonne, as a young widow was eager to make sure that her family name remained in everybody's memory. That is why she converted the family property into a wine domain. Soon she turned towards biodynamic farming, producing finer wines and gaining notoriety among the worlds most famous chefs.
Tasting the domain's wines allows you to get a feel of Yvonne's deep energy and the resilience and to take a glimpse at the powerful landscapes and terroirs shaped by the nearby Pyrenees.
