The Swartland Revolution is probably the best wine related public event in the world. It is definetely the craziest, the funniest and also the most serious one, when it goes to the quality of the wines tasted during the we.
The participants to the second edition of the Revolution have broken last year record of bottles consumed over dinner: 600 for 250 participants, not bad!
The real record was however to be found in the fervor with which the wines were discussed and commented. The flawless organisation has allowed deep discussions between participants and organisers.
What makes the Revolution unique is the actual revolution taking place among the local winemakers, gathered under the label: Swartland Independent. Their aim at producing more drinkable and more terroir oriented wines is simply turning the region into the hottest wine spot on earth!
This year, Olivier Clape, of the Domaine Clape in Cornas, Northern Rhone was a guest among many other talents, confirming by his presence that the Swartland area is now at the level of the best terroirs of the Old and of the New world.
