The Piquemal family works as a clan, with Marie-Pierre and her brother Franck taking over the running of the operations after their father.
For another few months, the domain is still located located in the typical South of France town of Espira de l'Agly. The narrow streets, the small courtyards planted with trees have made it increasingly difficult for the trucks to come and pick bottles and for the tractor to bring the grapes during harvest. So the new generation will soon be working in a new state of the art winery, on the outskirts of the old town.
This move into new modern facilities reflects the evolution of the domain wines and marketing strategy towards new levels of quality: distinctive ranges of wines, new packaging.
The domain wines are generous, tasty and very representative of the terroirs available in Languedoc-Roussillon. The Catalan strength of character that runs in the family expresses itself in this "Terres Grillées". The name means "roasted ground". It is a testimony to the hot climate and to the cruelty of the sun but also to the seductiveness of the grilled notes that enrich the nose of this wine.
