An organic wine is a wine produced with organic grapes that have been grown without chemical fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides and herbicides.
In France, strictly speaking, there are no certified organic wines. The agencies in charge of certification (Ecocert, Demeter, AB) only guaranty that the grapes are organic.

The "organic" practices in the cellar during the vinifications remain to be agreed upon: the use of sulfites, the enrichment of the must or the use of selected yeasts are highly controversial.
